Idaho Falls Territory and Landscapes

The city of Idaho Falls is well known for its location, situated beautifully in the Upper Snake River Valley of Southern Idaho nestled between the City of Pocatello and Island Park, Idaho which happens to sit 30 +/- miles from the Yellowstone National Park - West Entrance. The areas surrounding the city consist of a vast array of incredibly scenic destinations including the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, Craters of the Moon National Monument and Reserve, and the southern portions of the Lost River Range and the Lemhi Range. Additional points of interest surrounding the city include Henry’s Fork well known for its world-renowned fishing opportunities, the City of Rocks which boasts trails, Lava Hot Springs, the beautiful waters of Palisades Reservoir and further northeast, the west slope of the Teton Mountain Range makes its way into the Teton Valley of Idaho. Now that's simply a fraction of the many factors that contribute to Idaho Falls' well-known location though that's a great start to a few of the reason why this area is so popular. Nevertheless, take delight in discovering the allure that encircles Idaho Falls as there are a host of lakes, mountains, various types of caves, extensive trail systems, the sand dunes, wildlife refuges, grasslands, wetlands, reservoirs, lava fields, and the list goes on.

Idaho Falls is also well known for its contributions in the business sector with a 2.5% increase in jobs over the last year according to BestPlaces.net with strengths in health care services, manufacturing, retail trade, as well as professional, scientific, and technical services. Top employers in the Idaho Falls region include Idaho National Laboratory, Meleuca Inc., Eastern Idaho Medical Regional Center, and Winco Foods to name a few.

Idaho Falls Demographics

Idaho Falls is home to just over 61,000 residents over an area of 23.14 sq. miles, giving it a population density rate of 2,652 residents per square mile. To put this in perspective the city of Seattle, Washington boasts a population of just over 600,000 in 2018 and stretches across 142.07 square miles with a density rate of 7,251 residents per square mile. Perhaps, a comparison with a similar-population sized city such as Napa, California would be more helpful. The city of Napa boasts a population of around 79,263 for 2018 with an area of 18.05 sq. miles leaving it with a population density rate of 4,526.91 residents per square mile. In comparison, Idaho Falls has a much lower density rate to these cities and many others. One of a few considerations that may be made prior to relocating is what the potential commute is going to be like depending on which preferred route is chosen. Fortunately, the Idaho Transportation Department publishes frequently updated statistical reports with a monthly volume comparison report YTD that outlines by county, highway or interstate and the volume of traffic that has either increased or decreased YTD for that month in comparison to the previous year and by what percentage. For many, highway or interstate travel does not apply and will have no impact on the overall decision-making process when considering Idaho Falls Duplexes, though, for others saving a few minutes of time each day by routing out a travel plan may be helpful. Another interesting fact is that Idaho Falls boasts 6 zip codes that currently cover this entire area. This may come in handy or be helpful when searching for a home, land, or real estate in the area. The current zip codes for the Idaho Falls region include 83401 and 83404 to name a few.
